Front wheel bearing hub and brake disc issue on Discovery 3

Hi.
Recently I got a warped front left brake disc. Steering wheel shake upon braking... A little more than 10k kms on all of them.
Manufacturer reply: you are using them on a four wheel drive mate, you went into a creek. Nope. But nice try.
Got new discs. After removing both 'old' front discs I noticed that the front left hub that had been replaced last october together with the disc that warped now has a much thinner disc (see photos) than the one on the right side that had not been replaced, still good and the brake disc on it is good too. The mechanic said sorry, he ordered it by part number ad this is what he got. He would send this one back, reimburse and replace it at no cost if I get the right one.
Here comes the hard part.
I looked all over the internet and the aftermarket ones seem to come with a thicker disc and the Timken ones are thin now.
I suspect that the thin hub discs absorb a lot less heat from the brake disc than the thick ones. Might be the cause of warping brake disk?
Should I get an aftermarket hub or leave it as it is and hope that the new discs will last longer?

Used OEM ones on mine,not that much more expensive than aftermarket,and no worries at all.
