    Tanami

When my 95 tanami landed in Australia am I right in thinking it would have been ' finished' with decals and knife girl and spoon set etc. Where would that have been?

Are you asking where they were assembled?

The Tanami pack was probably added at Land Rover Australia's factory at Rydalmere

The blurb doesn’t mention that model coming with a girl

It was the 90's after all so it most likely did come with a free set of steak knives, Pretty much everything else you bought back then had free steak knives with it

Along with an exclusive map to Lasseter's reef.

Can't not post this. Les Hiddens. Gotta luv him. Besides there's a defender in it.

From what I saw when "All 4 Adventure" went to the Tanami looking for a lost plane wreck, the Deefer should've had solid tyres to avoid all the puncturtes they had. It seems a shrub grows there that when burnt leaves a spike almost as hard as steel!

Drove down the Tanami road back in 1982 or so, road in name only, very corrugated, but not a bad drive. Drove down from Top Springs, thru Halls Ck and down the Tanami to Alice. Top speed about 70 km/hr, would not like to leave the track without proper preparation. A few dead cars on the side of the road, I think the local indigenous people used them as spare parts shops.

We drove through the Tanami from Alice to Halls Creek via Rabbit Flat in 1992. A great trip in a Holden SWB 2A and a county v8 rebuilt with series 3 body. One flat. In contrast to 2001 when we drove from Stuart HW to top springs and shredded 3 tyres.
