Hi All,
I have just joined this forum so I am hoping there are knowledgable people out there.
My 94 Disco has developed an engine vibration that can felt through most RPM range (it was progressive over the last 30K). It idles rough but a constant RPM. With the clutch in and in gear the vibration is still there so this may omitt the drive train. Has anyone else had this problem or know someone that has?
Thanks
Phillip

Ex 300Tdi Disco:
did the Tdi have a balance shaft...?
Hi have a look at the crank pully when the engine is running to see if its wobbling about, if the bolt hasnt been done up tight enough and comes loose the pully wobbles and starts wearing into the crank. also the fan, make sure it turns smoothly and all the blades are there,
Just another couple of ideas for you
cheers
Richard
The other areas I'd be investigating are the head gasket and injector/fuel issues.

harmonic balancer slipping ?
check the integrity of the steel/rubber bond.
Zook, no balance shafts on a 300Tfi, they are pretty agricultural when running at the best of times.
