    Trading up from TD5

    Hi guys,

I am currently looking at realizing my dream of changing from a 'land' to a 'range', and seek some recommendations.

What is the general consensus on my dilemma, looking at a 2010 face-lift with higher kms, approx 210k, or a lower km example, say 160k 2008 pre-facelift ?

Obviously full service history / belt changes a must, and I have got myself totally confused on which is the better engine. There is a lot out there on the 2.7L and the 3.0L with the crackshaft issues, but seems to apply to both, but whilst there are a few horror stories out there, I think there is more bad press than actually how common the issue is.

I have also been looking at the 3.6 V8, but again, reading lots about 100k turbo-life span.

Whilst I can get a tidier pre-face-lift model, it does look older inside, I have also been reading that Land Rover kept making changes to the face-lifted model and continually improved it and ironed out the niggles, thus the newer I can get the better.

My LR specialist mechanic says the 2.7L is the most reliable unit, but any wise words or advice would really help me in my decision. I do most my daily drives these days on my Yamaha, so won't be using the Sport for a great amount of Kms, I have had the D2a TD5 for 10 years, and looking for another 'keeper' with the Sport.

All comments appreciated, engine related or otherwise. Matt.

The 3.6 tdv8 in my 2008 L322 has been a pleasure. No problems. But it has had an oil/filter change every 10,000km. It now has 297k km.

    If looking at a L319, I would be wanting a tdv8 MY10 facelift.

I went from a Perentie wagon to my L322. I still have the 110 (rarely gets driven). The L322 is a great vehicle. I would also look at a 3.6 MY10 L322.
    L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow
