The cheapest lift by far is a set of Lovell springs to lift it 2". I did my old Disco and had no problems at all.

hi guys sorry for being repetative
but was thinking about doing a 1 to 2" lift on the disco but i want to do it quite cheaply
but not so cheap that if i take the car offroading it falls apart if you know what i mean
i came accross these on ebay and thought they looked pretty cheap anyone know how good they are ????

or other suggestions i know people have there own preferances to shocks and springs and all think that what they run is the best
but just looking at something cheap but will upstand some offroading
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

Wondered about the E-bay kit but mine is already lifted.
It's still $1000.00 once you get all the stuff
Last set of springs I bought I paid $140 an end, and they were full custom to my specs.
Shocks were $120 each
Total $760
I bought King Springs for my disco, but i got them second hand from Discowhite, from memory it would set you back around $300-350 for a set new from Repco, then i fitted Old Man Emu Nitrocharger shock which were $500 for the 4, the cheap stuff is fine but those shocks wont last long at all so in the end you lose out. Discounts for AULRO members, just shoot me a PM before you purchase.
If your shocks are fine jut put the nominal 2" springs in. The spring free lengths are pretty close to the factory spec lengths anyway.

Exactly the point. "A cheap lift". After that it all goes up in $$$. If its just height you want go the springs, once you start talking ride and articulation its a whole different ball game.Originally Posted by Slunnie

the cheapest "lift" is taking a grinder to the guards...![]()
are you wanting to lift for looks or to fit larger tyres ??
I disagree, If you do your homework and shop around, there is no reason you cant have champane tastes on a beer budgetOriginally Posted by disconut
