Super ModeratorHas anyone looked at these? : Land Rover Navigation map Disc, Australia & New Zealand V27 2021, GPS SAT NAV UPDATES
Apparently up to date nav disks for the Denso nav in the D3. I know there is a method whereby a disk can be edited and have the latest maps inserted, and I'm pretty sure I have the latest official D3 disk (2012).

The latest official satnav disc for your car is here:
Land Rover Australia - In-car GPS Upgrades for Australia and New Zealand - powered by TomTom® maps (navshop.com.au)
For the D4 it is here:
Land Rover Australia - In-car GPS Upgrades for Australia and New Zealand - powered by TomTom® maps (navshop.com.au)
Note that V22 was released in either late 2016 or early 2017, but from my experience it would appear the most recent content is no later than 2015.
My guess, if the UK site is legitimate (which appears doubtful as they don't accept Visa, Master Card or PayPal), is that they try and recode later TomTom files into a format that the unsupported vehicle can accept.

Hi BradC
I have a D4 2013 and gave up on the in car satnav after it was out of date several years ago. Cost of DVD update was exorbitant to say the least and it was out of date already. No current maps, no school zones, etc. etc.. I bought a dash mounted satnav that sits just to left left of the instrument binnacle. It is actually easier to see than the in dash one and does not obscure my vision. Yes, you have a power cable running to the accessories plug and some very minor reflection issues but I find it very good. It came with free for life updates and is generally a much better product in any case. Suggest that you do the same or use google maps or another app on your phone. Later LR's are more up to date from what I've seen in loan cars from the dealer.

Super ModeratorYeah, medium term I'm looking at a module to add carplay in place of the existing NAV, it was more an academic exercise really. I know there are people around who can put the latest maps on the Denso Nav discs, I just wondered if anyone had encountered them. I'm pretty sure I already have the latest official disk, and I've burned a couple of copies for people in the past.
I've had 3 stand alone satnavs over they years that all had "free lifetime maps", but buried in the fine print was "where lifetime means until we can't be arsed supporting that generation anymore at which time you'll need to upgrade to the current hardware to continue to get the *free* updates". After the last one ceased getting updates I stopped buying them. I do use my phone or the UBD, but I do actually like the on-board nav unit.
Search the forum, it’s there somewhere.
I’d think you don’t have the latest version.
But from my experience, I bought the latest version from Navshop a few years ago, took a couple of hours to load, and noticed no significant improvement. The update is currently on special at $117 but is the 2016 version (2015 mapping). Don’t waste your money IMO.
I contacted Navshop last year about any further upgrades.....I doubt it’s going to happen.
I still use the LR GPS, but if in doubt use the phone app.

Hi BradC
I was aware of the "lifetime" definition. If I'm not mistaken that issue was raised with Consumer Affairs a while ago and that were told they were very naughty. I can understand these companies not wanting to support things ad infinitum but they should state it more clearly. Still, I've gotten more than the cost of the inbuilt satnav upgrade back and do prefer the on dash one when I need one for its better functionality. Don't need it much these days. I understand your opinion though. Each to his own as they say.
