Existing hail damage and insurance companies

Up until recently only NRMA would accept my car for comprehensive insurance and that @ 1600 to insure it for 13k. I see now that AAMI (and a few others) has nothing about pre existing hail damage in the comprehensive PDS and @ 1250 insured for 16k it feels like a much better deal.

Any one else have more knowledge on this that could help me decide?

    Who would you pic?

    Thanks

    J

NRMA is a rip off. My Mondeo is insured for $17k for under $600 a year.

Try compare the market. I know you'll get lots of cheesy spam emails as a result but you'll save cash.

Not sure on the hail damage q sorry.

I am sure the AAMI PDS has an obligation to declare pre existing damage - may not specifically mention hail damage but it is still damage.

The issue is what will they pay to repair if an accident impacts on any part which has prior superficial damage I think. A mate in Sydney had a crash in a car he thought was Micky mouse. It had been repaired before he brought it. He had paid full insurance on it for years. The Insurance offered peanuts for the major damage as the superficial damage made the parts worth a lot less than the replacement or repair cost. They wrote off his car much to his horror.

My son brought a hail damaged car for his first Drive. Great car and great price. 3rd party insurance only on it.

    They're more aerodynamic with dimples.
