						SupporterAs part of my ongoing preparations for registration, I started to change the HP fuel pump belt. The belt that I removed has 85 teeth, the new belt has 82 teeth. I think that the difference is EUR3 to EUR4. Would that be right?

Best check the old belt.

That's really interesting info as our car is a 7A chassis making it theoretically EU4.
I've posted on here before as regards EGR removal on the early EU4...7A chassis.
But I also know our car runs exactly the same engine mapping as the early EU3.. So not really EU4, and it doesn't put the engine light on.

Yep, but my data leads me to believe that the 2.7 D3 *genuine* EU4 was still running Siemens.
It was only when the 3ltr was introduced that they went Bosch. I would love to be corrected on this though if I'm wrong.
And as far as being EU4 compliant that's entirely possible, it's happened many times that an engine is upwards compliant.. Or very nearly so, then gets minor tweaks.

						SubscriberNo , you're probably correct, I was probably confusing the 3.0 , as well as them changing to the first redesigned pump around 2007, think there was more than a couple of fires that caused this to happen

Does anybody want a new, unused 83 tooth belt kit?
A recommendation is to cut off the old belt don’t undo the bolt to release the tensioner. People have damaged the last threads this way and there is no way of getting in to clean up threads with the body on. A nightmare scenario.
I used some short wire clippers which chomped through it easy. Remove the tensioner after the belt is gone.
Mark the orientation on the old belt first so you match to new belt.
