    Service centres in Melbourne

Hi, Not a usual poster on this part of the forum but need some recomendations about good reliable indi's in melbourne. It is on behalf of my neice and is looking to find a service centre for her D4 2.7 has 270k on it but runs fine. She lives on the western side but not fussed about where to go, Les Richmond was my first suggestion, have been a green oval owner for over 30 years so probably know most of the usual suspects, but would like some other more current views. She is a single parent so ideally someone who doesn't just see a giant dollar sign driving in, she uses it for camping a lot so reliability is a focus. Thanks Joe

I would recommend AutoFarm & Engineering in Kilmore East if not to far away.

Good service, knowledgeable & work on all types of Landrover as well as some other prestige cars (saw a Roller in there last time i was in).
    Cheers

Glen at Eastern Ranges Prestige, phone 9761 4426, would be my recommendation. Really knows his stuff and is decent bloke to go with it. Opposite side of town from where your niece is but if distance is not an issue this would be the go.

Every time I ask this question as a Melbourne west-sider, the silence is deafening. Everything, including the Range Rover and Land Rover 4WD clubs, is/are east or far-east side, and in my experience, not /that/ much cheaper than the dealers. Even Les Richmond has moved further out from Thomastown to Campbellfield or somewhere, absolute miles even from public transport.

AMV at Ringwood are very good, and right next door to the Heatherdale station. As others have said, a bit pricey like most of the other Indys.

no one suggested Rova Range? Granted they are usually at capacity months ahead I guess because they are a popular indie?

I have used both British Automotive in Romsey and Ritters.

At British Automotive I can drop the Disco for a service, go for a walk and coffee then generally pick it up after 2 to 3 hours. Just let them know when booking. Saves me time driving in from Bendigo to Melbourne
