That would explain the odd light pattern

So my car had an odd, assymetrical light pattern at night - not awful, but obviously different on one side...

Once my LED upgrades arrived, I took the light units out to swap them in. Oh look what a quality job 'someone' has previously done in mounting the main light...Both of the circled tabs should be inside the annular housing like the arrowed one at the top. This doesn't cause any light pattern issues at all - not!

Ah well, both brighter and correctly aligned now....

Surprised the globe stayed in there at all. Check for dust in your lens, the seat of the globes in the recess provides a decent dust seal. The rubber main seal doesn't always sit right.

Good point. It's ok, but there is a 'hazing' on that section of the front light cover... I think I can just live with it, unless anyone knows an easy way of getting the front cover off in order to buff it out - I'm not springing for a whole new unit, that's for sure...
