I wonder if this might be my new Discovery in a few years?

Australian pricing released today on the Ineos Grenadier. It will be a hard decision when the time comes. New Defender or Grenadier. Pricing for Trialmaster variant looks pretty good (from $96,450). Happy with D4 still, but starting to plan.

I’m feeling the same. Love the D4 and happy to keep it, but keen to see how the Grenadier goes.

There's already a thread on this.

If I ever replace my Defender .. the only car I can see as a replacement is the Grenadier. I'm watching with interest. Lucky I've got time to let them sort the bugs and see how they go. No rush to be an early adopter.

Sound thinking,, warranty only handles physical stuff, I'd like to hear peoples driving views before buying... it might run like a toyota,,

Its a heavy bugger... 3.5 tonnes.(edit - thats gvw: but 2.6 to 2.7 tonne doesnt leave a huge payload... But I do like that 150kg dynamic roof load. That's actually useful, as opposed to the Disco's woeful 75kg limit... I'm also keeping a close eye on the user experience. If it doesn't have issues, it's a great looking bit of kit.

Hey nice to see you're still around.

The defender is still in top shape and doing the same things it's ever done. So I'm not in any particular rush. It just turned 17.

I think the Grenadier will do all I ever wanted in a dew defender.. more of the same just a little bit more comfy. Better ergonomics etc but with the same rugged underpinnings. I just need simple.

Having bought a production car which turned out to be a prototype in my past I'm in no rush to be a product tester again. Maybe they will nail it but I bet the cars built in 2025 will have a lot of the early issues sorted. Maybe they will nail it from day one...

Also watching the rollout with interest. I'm planning on keeping the D4 (160k) for a couple of years yet, and see how the Grenadier goes in the real world.
