    D4 Adaptive Damping System?

Hi all, hope someone can assist. How do I know if my D4 has Adaptive Damping or not? I need new air shocks and it seems there are ones for and ones without Adaptive Damping functionality. Not sure what I need? Tried a search with key words here, but no joy yet. Vehicle is 2010 D4 3.0 TDV6 HSE.

    Advanced thanks.

I’m 99.99% sure that’s a Range Rover feature. Go to Advanced Factors and check their site for part numbers for your vehicle.

    No D4 had adaptive dampening.

The air struts sold by AF are the BWI / Delphi units, and are the same for both the RRS and D4 as these have the same running gear. I am also not aware of any Adaptive Suspension on the RRS or D4 as Mr . Tombie says.

    They are a RRS feature.

He asked about dampening. Not dynamics.

Discos don’t have the controlled “shocks”

In 2010 I was heading north away from Melbourne on the freeway in my quite new D4. As a 2010 RRS slowly crept past I wondered why it was gliding along yet with its wheels dancing over the bumps while my D4 jarred at every imperfection in the road surface. I later learnt about CVDs.

Thank you all for your input on this. I think I've got a clearer idea of what I've got now.

The RRS have two wires that come out the top of the shock that allows the damping to be adjusted on the fly.

Back on topic, this was never a D4 feature so moot.
