    Rear E-Diff

    Gday All,
Is there a easy way to tell if the car has an e-diff by either eyeballing the mechanical or by something on the display. ?

The display is difficult unless you are in the right mode and it chooses to lock, easier to stick ya noggin underneath and have a captain cook.

So I’m assuming I will see either leads or wires going into the diff or something very noticeable mounted on or near it… any tips on exactly where I should be looking…yes I know the diff is a good start..

You will see a solenoid hanging out the side of it and wiring.

ON most, the Off Road page of the display will show a green unlocked symbol where the centre diff is and where the rear diff is. If there is no symbol at the rear diff location it doesn't have one.
However, the reverse is not necessarily true. I have been told, but never seen, that some software versions show a green diff unlocked symbol at the rear diff location. even when there is no locking diff there.
Physically, you can see the protrusion for the electric motor on the left side of the diff.

Not true sorry bud. Whether or not you have an e-diff you have an unlocked rear diff symbol. Mine has no e-diff and you can see the unlock symbol. The only difference is if you DO have an e-diff you will see that lock as required. The symbol is the worst way to identify an e-diff. A quick look under the car is the best and simplest way.

It is, but easier to see the motor through the left side.
