			Road Trip!

Hi folks I’m sat at home tonight preparing the venture forth into the Great Southern Lands.

Im flying south to the cold and misery of Queensland tonight to finally collect my recently acquired Land Rover 130 and bring him back to his new home in the Top End.

‘Frank’ is replacement for my beloved Hector who was sadly rolled and written off by my wife a few weeks ago. Frank is a 2013 130 with just 50000km on him and a glowing independent Land Rover specialist’s inspection report. He comes with dual batteries, a slight remap to improve engine efficiency and durability and a rear differential lock. And all the usual bullbar winch and canopy

Frank is so named for Frankenstein, because I still have Hector and will be using him as a donor for all the great new stuff that went into him over the years. Hector had a factory new engine (0 kms) fitted just 20,000km back and new clutch as well as various other fruit. So if Frank ever needs any bits they can come straight from Hector. The reason for the writeoff was a deflection in part of the chassis. He doesn’t look too badly damaged.

So time Frank will become an amalgam of Himself and Hector.

So I’ll be driving Frank up over three or four days. Really looking forward to it. Getting to know my new Land Rover, pulling off the road and sleeping in the back when I want.

Last time I did something like this was seven years ago when I bought an aircraft in NSW and flew it home alone, landing in paddocks and sleeping under the wing... A great adventure

 Really excited

 Cheers

 Alan
