He looked at it and said there was nothing that could be done and he was unsure what was causing it other than he thought it might have gotten wet somehow. My disco 3 has done 214,000k . I use it to tow a horse float and I love it. I really don’t want to buy another car. I want this one fixed. I drove it today after it had been going fine for a few weeks and the breaks grabbed slightly again on some right hand turns . Has anyone had a similar problem that can shed some light ?

I think find another mechanic!! Pretty sure brakes get wet and don’t just start randomly grabbing!
Sounds like they need a strip down and clean, checking the callipers are free to move. Also make sure there’s not some weird ABS/traction control issue (no lights on and no odd buzzing noise when it happens?).
The right hand turn thing is odd. Check that no flexible lines are dangling and getting squashed, and that the front wheel bearing is ok (jack it up and try wobbling the wheel - I guess if really bad could set something in motion)…
Lastly- no suspension mods or signs that a wheel is hitting the car (scrubbing) at full lock - giving a brake-like feeling?
