    200tdi lift pump removal

The lift pump on my 200tdi defender motor was leaking so I've purchased a new pump to replace it. However I'm finding it impossible to remove the old one as it seems stuck and won't lift out. I've tried turning the crank etc but to no avail As a last resort do I need to remove the plate off the block as well ??

The old pump can be turned slightly left and right but just won't pull out

    Hi Jerry
We removed the lift pump on our 200tdi yesterday. It came straight off. But removed the fuel line to make access easier.

We are having the same problem with getting our radiator out.
