Engine Mount distance tube

G'day Folks,

Could anybody please tell me the length of the distance tubes for the engine /gearbox mounts used on a '49 80 inch?
I pulled the old ones out and they are all different (farm job I imagine)
Any help appreciated

Not sure if this is of any help 49 engine mount 2.jpg next page makes reference to shim adjustment for nip 49 engine mounts 11.jpg you may find they came out of factory with different lengths. Sorry about it being upside down but that is what happens when I put on here even though I have inverted them

I've measured 4 old ones, and they all are 2-1/8" long.

I have been helping a mate with a similar problem, but his rear mounts didn't have any spacing tubes at all! I believe that there are 2 lengths : 2" or 2 1/8": as BSF advised.
I think that some lower mounts had a thicker steel insert moulded in to the rubber. Alternate suppliers perhaps? As long as the preload on the rubber is set correctly with adding or subtracting the shims and the bolt, distance tube and wahers are nice and tight on the cross member, everything should be OK.Some of the repro mounts are lacking any steel inserts, so may need a bit more preload to avoid excess movement. I have a few '49 dated carb and dizzy bits if you are missing anything. Good luck wiyh your project!
