Some time in the late 80' s there was a change in bush size it can't remember if it was diameter or width (width I think) but believe the arms are the same.
Someone should be able to confirm that.
I’m getting set to do my front bushes….daily driver no second car.
Now down to tin tacks..I’ve managed the back ,however I have multiple sets of r arms sittting in the shed….are d1 arms the same as defender arms? I know I’ve likly got both d1 and rrc[imperial I’d guess…ie 80’s era ]…
Dose anyone know if there[d1] the same arm as a 2002 defender?
Also on topic I’ve seen SuperPro radius arm 2 part bushes and one peice ones listed for that era.
Any thoughts or advice
I have no access to a press if the curent ones are out
Cheers and happy Xmas

Hi,
The difference is in width. Can't remember if they got wider or narrower........... I'm thinking narrower............ more articulation.
Also .......... I've used SuperPro for a long time now and actually have a tool that was machined in 5 mins to press the one piece bushes in (using a bench vice.......... easy as), 20 years ago, in 74 RRC radius arms.
Pretty sure the new ones I have in a packet are 2 piece, but they're different arms, front diff is braced County, MD everything, County CV's, just got to find time to slot the swivels and get rid of the stoopid caster correction bushes that came with the arms.
Not much help, but I think the width change was done with the flanges on the diff and all the radius arms are the same.

I wuz wrong.
The front radius arm to diff bushes got wider as the years went by. The ones I have in a packet are one piece.............I must have been thinking back to the Pedders ones that were on my POS when I bought it.
The kit just for the arms to diff bushes I'm using is SPF 0126K............. crush tube length is 48mm. No diameter specified, but they measure 50mm with the verniers
Suits Def 83 - 90 (KA) and RRC 69 - 86.
Kit 01803K suits Def 1990 - 2007 on. (LA onwards), RRC 87 - 95, Disco 89 -95.
Length 53mm, Dia 50mm.
Dunno if the Def radius arms got thicker or not, but most parts places list different radius arm part numbers for KA vehicles compared with LA onwards.
RRC and Disco radius arm part numbers are different again.
cheers, DL
Yea I thought thicker and metric nut………99.5% certain that d1 and defender are the same…..kinda thining lane rrc is the thicker arms to
Although looking at SuperPro they list both split and bob in style.
Split would be handy to fit

Early county were narrower, but from D1 onwards the D1/Defender are the same.
At a push you can fit the narrow early arms to the wider bracket D1 axle housing by making up some 5mm thick spacers. Did this recently on my 85 County as I’d rebuilt a D1 housing to install, then found the D1 arms I was planning to fit had been badly gouged with an oxy torch previously so I had to use the original narrow ones.
