Hi all, can I put 20w 60 motor oil in my 4.0 disco 3? I tow a caravan and when I’m in heavy traffic the engine oil light comes on and off when idling. I’ve check the oil level and it’s full and the oil hasn’t even done 5000km yet.
Thanks.

MY08 D3 - The Antichrist - "Permagrimace". Turn the key and play the "will it get me home again" lottery.
You're better fixing the primary issue, rather than the symptoms.
It could be the sender or the pump.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I wouldn't.
Modern engines usually use a much lighter grade, e.g., 5W40 full synthetic, not just for fuel economy reasons. Dunno about the D3, though.

Definitely not 20w60, you could try 5w40, I think the factory spec is 5w30?

5w 30 is the LR spec.
LR Time and a few other Ewetubers reco 5w40.
I’m getting pop corn ready…
I'd be checking the at idle oil pressure, it could be the sender.
