How the IT Crowd can help you fix your new Defender.

So when reverse gear is selected on a good day the screen shows what's behind the Defender and indicates what you are likely to hit if you maintain your current trajectory. Nothing revolutionary there...most modern vehicles have this useful aid.

This arvo I got a blank panel where the advice should have been together with a message suggesting I should be careful and check what was around me. (just like the good ole days).

    So I remembered this:

So pressing the on/off/volume button on the left hand side of the dash panel for about 20 seconds until the screen goes blank and reappears I rebooted the system and all is good. Now I can again see what I will bump into before it happens.

The old PiviPro reset - I have read about it but never had to do it myself. Your Defender might be on an older version of the software.. It will automatically update itself.

The Defender is an August 2022 build (MY23.5). I believe that the software is the current version. The version no. doesn't show and as far as I know won't until there is a new one downloaded. So maybe it was just a glitch that was readily fixed.

I thought you would have had to open the door, get out, close door, open door and get back in?

Also open the ashtray, spit in the ashtray, close the ashtray, and twiddle the cigarette lighter.

Unfortunately, the digital ashtray and matching lighter (part of the "smokers pack") were discontinued due to the global semi-conductor shortage, along with the sunglasses holder, many USB outlets, and the locking fuel cap. Fortunately, the on/off switch remains

I can’t remember where - but you can see what version you are running via the full menu system.

Just happened to us on the

New to us 04/21 D300 we picked up. Stuck on welcome screen, would show terms of use, but hit OK on your profile and . . . nothing.

Forced reboot (hold vol/power button down 20+ seconds trick) and fixed.
