Door locking not working 2014 D4 SE

I have an issue with remote locking on my 2014 D4 SE, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Sometimes when locking, all doors lock correctly but when unlocking I cannot open the driver's door from outside - I have to get in the car to unlock manually.

Other times the all doors lock except the driver's door. Mirrors do not fold in and there are two short beeps of the horn.

I have replaced battery in the remote, I saw a suggestion to clean or replace the actuator - but not sure how to remove the actuator.

Any clues please?

I picked up an actuator (new but probably some kind of non-genuine?!) for about $170, and my wife and I fumbled our way through it in about 3.5 hours just last night, following the Powerful UK videos on door card removal, window regulator removal, actuator swap out. Fiddly and easier with two people (especially the glass removal), but doable.

The magnet on a stick is a must have!! As well as retrieving screws etc generally, my wife very cleverly used it to get the door lock screw back up inside the door skin and in to place (this was front passenger).
