Need Diagnostic Tool for Disco 4 To Check Oil Level

Hi there, my Disco 4 is generating fault code P060B. LR dealer investigated and advised issue is with Oil Level Sensor. Quoted $5K+ to replace. Hoping to get my hands on a diagnostic tool to check oil level as a temporary solution until we can afford this rather expensive dip stick to be replaced 🤪 Hoping someone can tell me what tool to buy, what I should expect to pay, and where to get it? Thanks Dexter

The tool reads from the exact same sensor - so if your sensor is faulty - you wont get a reading

I've wondered what I would do if I had this problem (oil level sensor not working) and I suspect I would just live with it. After all, if you replace the oil and filter every 6 months or 10k kms then all you have to do is keep an eye out for oil leaks. After all, oil will either leak out or be sent down the exhaust. In either event it will be obvious and the engine will need serious work so you can sort out the sensor then.
Say what you like about the engine and transmission, but they are very clean units, so leaks can be picked up very early.

Agree…and $5k repair would pay for the next few years of oil changes.(irrespective of what oil you decide to run ;-). )

You can see the $5K quote a little more clearly though after watching this.
