    I think I've found a D4!

    As the title says, I think I've found a D4 I like - a bit faster than I expected.
It is a 2016 with 212K kms on it.
Service history looks ok, and both timing belts are done.
Only thing I can't find is any mention of a transmission service. 10K engine changes and a transfer case change, but no transmission change.
Its one owner from a deceased estate.
Is this the legacy of "sealed for life" transmissions???
Thoughts on the lack of tranny fluid change please.

Worst case scenario, maybe budget $7k for a rebuild in the future

Now that I'm home, I can read the service history in more detail.
"Interesting" is the word I'd use.
Land rover dealer for first 7 services every 25,000km.
Engine oil at each service, and transfer case at 121K
front timing belt at 173K, and oils fluid etc at indy
Rear belt at 183K, rear brakes and fluids etc at indy
minor service, oil etc 195K at indy
minor service, oil etc and front brakes 210K at indy

As I said, no mention of transmission, nor any mention of suspension components. My limited knowledge thinks that there would be some clunking and bumping going over bumps by now.
And I'm told it has never been used for towing.

The advice I received from the ZF authorised agents that I use is that the transmission should be fine for 130k if it hasn't been used for towing. He claimed that he's serviced many D4s at around 130k and the transmission was fine. It's not unreasonable to expect that a 212k transmission that has done country miles and has not been used for heavy towing would be quite OK. I'd be a bit concerned if it was a city vehicle.

6-speed or 8-speed? The 8-speed doesn't suffer the issues of the 6-speed regarding long service intervals.

It'll be an 8 sp, test drive accordingly. But if it's not doing weird things, swap money and get it flushed for love

I've pulled the pin pin this one. Whats the saying "if it seems to be too good to be true, it probably is!"
    2016 Disco 4 for $28,000.
The dealer told me the auto did not need to be serviced as it is sealed for life, and when I quizzed him on the fact that this is the only land rover I have ever seen that has not required any replacements or repairs (there are no receipts or invoices for any other work) in its 212K life, he said it had been a reliable car!!!!!
He told me I have the complete service history of the car.
I told myself to take my time, and now I'm telling myself again lol.

I think you made the right call

Meanwhile, what the hell are the headrests in the second row? Never seen those before?
