    LR engines?

    Hi

Why can't LR source 1 simple large diesel motor for the defender, without all. the electronic crap.?? Surely theirs something out there eg, isuzu 6cyl turbo ,They must meet required emissoin laws ,all the new trucks running around. My mates td5 in his defender which is only 6mths old is giving him niggly probs all the time. He has the chits good and proper, because his neighbour has a 110 county with the 4bd1 Isuzu & its just clocked up 550, 000 kms and it has not had a spanner on it!!. Landrover started off right with those models, where have they lost the plot??.

    Cheers Sumo

Jokeing aside . The army in the Uk still get defenders with the 300 TDi engine as they need them to be able to be fixed in the middle of nowhere. BTW there 300 tdis are tuned up by quite a bit too. No too uncommon to be over taken by a 110 army wolf doing 160kph plus. Land rover had to turn it down a bit after the squaddies kept rolling them. After all before that they have defedners with the 2.5 N/A in them
But were a not allowed to buy a 300 TDi new as they are not allowed on the road and don't poass the emissions. But the army can have them

what.....only two problems in six months....?

    he should take it back......

do you know if he is using the right fuel...?
some servos sell biodiesel without you knowing.....unless you check the colour of it as you are pumping it.....
this may cause damage to the fuel system.....or it may just be a myth to keep up the sales of dinodiesel.....

what was wrong with the computer......and its better to have all the problems while its still under warranty.....
