VOIP pn Starlink

Doe anyone have any real world experience using a VOIP setup on SL? Trying to sift through the answers thrown up by an internet search is like herding cats. I'm toying with the possibility of a "work from home ( or OKA ) " arrangement, but the unreliability of the NBN here, the ISPs intransigence, and the total lack of decent mobile reception 30 Ks from the CBD is making that difficult.
I don't have Starlink, as the costs are way beyond my current budget, but would get it if there was $$$ in doing so.

In the sense of using Iphone wifi calling on Starlink. We use Starlink for a remote camp with no phone reception. Wifi calling does work, and the voice call clarity is clear, but it is prone to drop outs. That said, it is a significantly better solution than Satphones and mobile reception boosters.

No, I don't. I had to maintain one when I was primary care for my Mom. I stopped paying the extra when she died. Thing is, though, you might enjoy reliable 4 or 5G where you live, here, where I can see the city, I'm lucky to get patchy 3G, which they are about to switch off. And, the NBN can be unreliable as well. At least here, Dunno why. Perhaps it's distance from the node or something. And, moving to the city is NOT an option, Ugh.

So, if I want to work from home where a phone is a requirement, VOIP is the only logical way to go. And Starlink seems more reliable then the NBN, by all accounts I have read, in fringe areas.

Thanks, Ian. It's not much different from what I have now, except it does offer VOIP. What IS interesting is that they offer a "traditional copper landline service", which I thought was verboten now we have the NBN. I'll see if that is available here. Would sure beat the mobile service I have.

BTW, changing mobile carriers make no difference. Been there, done that.

We had zero issues using ours for 9 months, WiFi calls, zoom, teams etc……

We had zero mobile service in our accommodation…..starlink is the best solution I reckon
