97 Defender 110 -middle bench seating upgrade - ? add headrests

G'day all, I have appreciated the wisdoms shared in this forum in recent months. I've just signed up and joined the LRCOV

Last year we traded our Disco for a 97 Defender 110- good fun!

    Project to date-
Finding my way around the truck, replacing bushes and universal joints and things has been quite fun as a non-mechanic (with a talented mate's help).
Murray from Rijidij made me a great wheel holder and front bash plate
Soundproofing has made it quiet enough to take a phone call
Stereo upgrade with reversing camera is a winner

    Current challenge -seating upgrade..
Have replaced the front seats with Pumas - huge improvement.
The middle bench puma seats I got with the set don't fit (without removing the body and welding new mount points to the chassis and cutting out some of the rear wheel arches that is..).

So..am wondering about reupholstering the current middle bench seats and welding head rests to the frame but not sure what's involved structurally. If anyone has tips, or pictures of what the internal back rest frame looks like, that would be appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Mike

Sorry you didn't get an answer to that query. It probably only means nobody had done it. Thanks for getting back with your own answer.

Keep asking! And maybe share the solution you found.
