Rear Seats for a Series 3

I am interested in installing a set of rear seats in an ex military series 3 (FFR)

VIcRoads have said, that if the seats were available from the manufacturer as an option at the time of sale, then all that is requried is a statement to this effect from the manufacturer.

Does anyone know where I could obtain such a document - would Land Rover be able to provide this still?

I have a loveley document which is the Repair Parts Schedule for the series 3 FFR. More than sufficient proof, although it is an army documet.

The bad news is that it was never fitted for the 8 seats in the back. It was fitted with 2 seats in the back (2 single seats at the rear, and a cushon on the center box) and the 3 in the front.

Mind you I did have seats for 8 in the back of my FFR (before I sold them to dickyjoe) and was never questioned, but I was also rather carefull about the when and where I carried people.

My Series III Hardtop has 9 usable seats 3 front 4 down passenger side and 2 down drivers side. This car has 3 person ute on the rego papers.
The hardtop is classified as a ute with a canopy. All seats have seatbelts and are legal.

I think there is also a small loophole in the ADR's that essentially say if there is more seats than seatbelts, seats with seatbelts must be occupied before those without them.

How about the " Series 2a, 3, Optional Equipment Parts catalogue RTC9842CE"? Frame 2F 14.

I think it is available either on-line or the AULRO CDs or both. Also readily available in hard copy from many Landrover parts suppliers. Mine came from Four Wheel Drives in Box Hill.

    Thanks Guys

Where would I get a copy of the catalogues reffered to on line? or the AULRO CD's?

Also would the fact that the vehicle is an FFR as opposed to a GS, determine whether or not 2 or 5 seats were installed in the rear - from what I gleaned from my conversation with the guy from VicRoads, is that it was more an issue with a LWB Land Rover as to whether (in a more general sense) seats were an option with that model.

Well that part is easy, seats were defenitely an option on the LWB land rover. if you follow this kink you will find a full colour catalouge from land rover about their models

    http://www.landrover.vlothuizen.nl/s...seriesIII.html

Trick is finding the right one. I have another one in my collection that I have to check as well

When I had my SIII registered as an 11 seater, the girl at VICROADS was a bit confused, but then a guy came out and said, "yeah that's a army troop carrier, it's standard", and that was the end of the matter.

It wasn't an army Land Rover, but he recognised it as being original equipment.
