    Different mirrors for Australia?

I had a stick flick up and bust my r/h door mirror the other day. When shopping for a replacement mirror head, I came across a listing of genuine parts that shows two different part numbers, one being for Australia. My curiosity is piqued. What could be a specific Aus requirement for a door mirror?

Does it mention about preferred sides of vehicle?

I don't know about Mirrors for LR but I believe it could be for either overtaking Sensor descriptions &/ or other info. MAZDAs do.

i smashed my drivers side mirror 2 weeks ago. the replacement from 4wd industries was britax (same as factory) and is larger than the factory one. It has 2 ball holes for the mount. seems to be universal for L & R or tight and wide fitting. The glass cut around the edge was done by blind freddy with 2 left thumbs. not finished off well at all, but will function the same.

Driver's side flat, like Ian says. Some countries have convex on both sides, or perhaps it's convex on the right for LHD markets..

That makes sense, although my broken one 9r/h) is convex. Can't recall where I bought from years ago as a pair of extended arm mirrors.

I have broken a few Defender mirrors, usually passenger side with sticks flicking up or dead overgrowth... The Defender glass available in UK - at least two different options I've tried, does not fit; no problems with D4 glass.
The defender mirror "base" does have two sockets, and can be configured for left or right side, but there is a nut needs swapping that can only be done if the glass is not fixed in place.
Alternatively, a mirror can be fitted to the "other" side, it is just a bit closed to the body!
Does anyone know a source of Australia sized 95 defender mirror glasses only?

I have had a glass supplier cut and shape mirror suit a mirror head in past, not a a Defender but similar.

Yep a busted mirror glass on older vehicles is usually able to be replaced by a glazier, have done that previously with other vehicles. Pennies compared to a new mirror head.
