    Checking Air Compressor type

    Hi,
I want to have a service kit at hand for my suspension air compressor.
I have the IIDTool but can't find where I'd find the info.
    Does anyone know?
(Rather than having to take off both the guard and cover)
    Tah Rich

If you look at the back side of the pump cover you’ll see two hoses curving in to the pump one larger than the other on the Hitachi. One above the other. Pretty sure these are modified for the AMK

The only thing you can try and service on the AMK is the desiccant

No need to look , anything past 2012 will have an AMK compressor.

Unless it was replaced by a previous owner with a Hitachi at some stage, which is not unheard ofChecking Air Compressor type

Still worth knowing an easy way to identify them though. Mine is MY2011 and I've been told it could be either. Also know someone here in Kalgoorlie with 2011 RRS and last time I spoke with him, he wasn't sure which compressor is in his either.
    Cheers .........

Yes because 2011/2012 is around the changeover year, Rich has a 2014 which came with an AMK and extremely unlikely that anyone changed to a hitachi especially since its a not a simple swap n go job.

    Sorted

Well I found in IIDTool that under ECU Flash

    There is these options:

If you Identify Actual Firmware I found my D4 was set for the wrong compressor!
Flashed it to the correct one!
Warning be patient when flashing the ECU.

I had ordered a 4X4 Airseals service kit for the AMK compressor and serviced all the O rings in the compressor as well as the desicant which most likely was 10yrs old.

Job done, just a word of warning there are 3 bolts holding the bottom cover on, I made the mistake of not realizing 1 was shorter than the other 2. This resulted in terrible noise when the compressor ran!
Swapped them around and all is good again.

    Cheers Rich

OK, so you have one of 2 scenarios...

SOmeone has replaced the compressor in your vehicle with a Hitachi unit (quite a bit of work to retrofit)

Or your vehicle is running the incorrect firmware which wont be making things nice for your AMK compressor
