Charging breaksafe 6000 from tow vehicle

My new caravan comes with a 12 pin flat socket so I will add a 7pin to 12pin adaptor from the black 12N plug. Easy enough. The van has a breaksafe 6000 connected to it and the wiring diagram of the 12 pin flat socket indicates that pin 2 in the 12pin plug needs to be for the breaksafe/aux connection which I assume for a constant 12v to charge the battery on the breaksafe 6000.

Is there a suitable pin on the 12N socket to for this or would I need to pick this up from the 12S socket?

You'll need to pick up from the 12S

For a 'clean' look, there is a factory part for a 13pin socket for the disco, which replaces the 12N and 12S. You could use that, and either a 12pin flat to 13pin adapter, or rewire the trailer to 13pin to plug in direct.

Other benefit is the spare hole frees up to put an Anderson in

    Thanks for the confirmation guys.

This is going to be pretty much a temporary solution as I will be looking to upgrade the D4 in 12-18 months time. If this was a long term solution then creating a 12 pin plug in the disco would have my preferred option.

    The options I see are

to create a 12n 12s Y cable into a 12 pin flat plug which should not be terribly hard. I discovered there actually seems to be purpose made wiring made by TYCAB for this. Tycab 8B&S 5 Core Cable (Sold Per Metre) | Outback Equipment. This is the way I would go.

    or

pick up a 12n 12s to 13 round adaptor A0039 | 12N and 12S Sockets to 13 Pin Plug Adaptor (ringautomotive.com) and then a 13 pin round to 12 pin flat adaptor. Too many adaptors... I cant find a premade 12n 12s to flat 12 pin adaptor which would be perfect if one existed.

When I had my D4 and we got a camper, the auto electrician who wired up the tekonsha brake controller and fitted the anderson plugs, made a 12n or 12s adapter to a 12 pin flat for me, using proper parts (Narva I think) and this worked very well.

Yep. I'm going through the process now of finding all the components. 12n and 12s plug (12s is hard to find locally), 5 core cable, 7 core cable, 12 pin flat socket.
