D3 engine replacement

Have friend who has a D3 with a stuffed 2.7 engine. I mentioned to him that some were putting Ford Territory engines in, so he asked me re cost and if there were any wreckers who would likely have them.
Hence the question of cost if someone has done one and where is the best place to look.

Been done numerous times, cost will vary but any wrecking yard that had cars of that era should have a territory.
Seen engines from $1100 to 5k, to pay a shop to do is likely in the 10k range, its not a simple drop in job but not difficult.
