Advanced Tow Assist Reversing Function

Hi,

I set out this afternoon with the camper trailer in tow looking for an empty car park so that I could 'get to know' the operation of the Defender (MY25) Advanced Tow Assist facility. It is a system that has the reversing vehicle self-steer following a trajectory set by the driver.

I enjoyed those times that it worked successfully and I thought, 'How amazing is this car!'. But I turned for home frustrated that I couldn't solve a recurring problem. The car would self-cancel the manoeuvre and displaying the message 'Trailer not detected.' This problem only occurs when I reverse at an angle; which is of course the situation for most reversing manoeuvres when towing.

As far as I know I have followed the instructions correctly - for creating a profile for the camper trailer, and for calibrating the rig.

Before one begins the manoeuvre the screen displays 'Tap (the screen) to align trailer'. I'm not sure if one has to have the trailer and car aligned before starting a reverse, or not. The same message has also been displayed whilst a manoeuvre is in progress, but perhaps only when the trajectory of the trailer is at an angle. Aligning the trailer before doing anything else didn't eliminate the problem.

Has anyone had this experience and solved it?
