    LR3 Can Bus EPB question

I have a totally shut down LR3 TDV6 I have been trying to fix for a Looong time. Finally learned the Can Bus system and have 120ohms from the Binnacle to the input pins for the PBS module. I have tested continuity on the connector (C2178)in and out pins and have continuity. I also have continuity in both wires from the EPB to connector C0376-0390 however with all connectors attached I cannot get an ohms reading at C0376-0390 or the next module Rear Diff control module. My presumption is that there is a problem with the PCB in the EPB breaking the connection. Can I get the PCB out without taking out the whole unit and does anyone know who can look at it if I take it out partially or totally ? I am in Port Macquarie.

Thanks for any help appreciated. Paul

Is the 120 ohms with the ECM disconnected from the HS canbus? There is a 120 ohm resistor in the ECM and the total resistance of the bus should be approximately 60 ohms.'

    What is the PBS module?

What led you to the EPB?

    Hi Graeme

I have both resistors connected and can find 120ohm at the binnacle resistor and none at the ABS resistor. I started at the binnacle and worked my through the wiring until I got to the electronic parking brake. I have 120ohm going into the connector on the EPB but none coming out r to the next connector or the one after that. I can get continuity in the wiring from the EPB onwards and by using the in and out Can Bus connections on the EPB loom plug so presumably the PCB in the EPB has a problem.

There are only 2 120 ohm terminating resistors, 1 at each end of the bus which is at the ECM and at the EPB. If the EPB is unplugged then measure across the can + and - on the other side of the connector then you should see 120 ohms if the bus is intact, but if not then leave the epb unplugged then start at the ecm and work your way back to find where you no longer measure 120 ohms.
BTW, the transfer case module has HS can in and out and the module's contacts often corrode. You might want to remove the transfer case module to check its contacts and the connector contacts before going any further.

I don't consider that your EPB has a problem from what you have posted.

Why are you checking the HS canbus?
