Android Head Unit Software

I've installed a Android head unit into my D4 and it's a great upgrade form the factory unit allowing for a big improvement in size of screen and the software that can be used. The one thing that is missing is the 4x4 info screen that showed suspension info, front wheel direction amongst a other functions.

I'm wondering if anyone with a similar head unit has found apps that do the above and any other useful app suggestions?

You can't get 4x4 info with most head unit upgrades, which unit did you fit ?

Unfortunately with all these Amazon purchases they change all the time and I can't find the unit I bought. I searched for Tesla style head unit for Landrover discovery 4 if that helps. I got the latest Android version (13 I think) and biggest RAM. The supplier sent me instructions via WhatsApp inc videos in Chinese so it was an entertaining experience to say the least. In the end though it's the best upgrade I've done.

If you go into settings and see if there is an option to select a canbus adapter you may get it to work, some do but most don't.

I just installed a fully android can bus integrated head unit that comes with working 4x4 screen D4 base spec aftermarket headunit upgrade by Driven Sound Vision Technology

That unit looks pretty good.

that looks very similar, i actually extracted the 4x4 info app installer off mine for you , and also extracted it to look at the source code to see if could add more features, that im not sure of, as i think you are limited to the can signals that the decoder translates/relays to the head unit, and theres no easy way to edit that.

the app is "car info" and looking inside it, it seems it built to work for all different cars and functions (not just 4x4), but whether by detection of the installed system or just the installer has been configured, it appears as "4x4 info" in apps. it might even be the parking sensor display too, so you may have it installed already.

Thanks for that. I've downloaded it but not sure when I'll get to install it. Will keep you informed.

cool, let me know , no rush, i guess i could even just try installing it on my phone ... i might try that now and see what it looks like when opened

update: got error on phone "App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package" so might not be possible to test it that way, but ill look into that error some more

Is it in APK format ? Doh, should have looked the file first. I'll download it and try it tomorrow and see what happens.

RR, apk's usually go in the root like other apps.
