I just finished a 10 day road trip around Iceland. Above is a just few vehicles I saw with big tyres. I also saw a D2 with significantly larger tyres than the one pictured, plus a couple of mini monster truck Jimnys . I was speaking to the owner of the Patrol and he said tyres up to 52 inches are street legal in Iceland.
They like their Land Rovers over there. Hire companies hire out D5s and both the old and new Defenders. You can even hire the Super Defender. IMG_1009.jpg
D3s and the old Defenders are a bit more common than in Australia. Next come the D4s. Disco Sports are very popular along with D5 and Range Rover Sports. Way out in front are the new Defenders. They are everywhere. Most are stock with no off-road mods.
I would not mind if this turned up in my driveway. IMG_2729.jpg
By the end of the trip, wheels on 4WDs that we call big became the norm. Only the big, big tyres stood out.
Like I said it is all relative.
