    2013 Disco 4 EAS compressor

I have just been quoted over 2k for a new compressor
Question is , what compressor would be in a 2013?
is it worth rebuilding for long term reliability, reliability is the most important aspect not cost due to where and how we use the car, remote and alone
Is 2k reasonable for supply, fit and software updates

The old / original compressor has never been touched and has no faults or warnings so this age should it be even replaced?
    Car is almost at 150,000km

Should be AMK depending on when your car was built, they were fitted from about MY12/13 on. Can get a new genuine a lot less than that from the UK or on Amazon, probably only needs a service kit though so check out 4x4 airseals.

You dont need any updates unless you are changing from one type to the other.

Be it AMK or Hitachi, they are both compatible - you will need a change to the CCF if you swap from one to another though.

So I guess the first step is to remove the compressor guard and see what type I have
Is it easy to see the difference without removing it? Is there branding that’s visible? Is it shape and design difference ?

    No.
    Yes.
    Yes.

They are visibly different in branding, shape and connectivity (both electric and pneumatic).

    That should be yes,no,yes.

Remove the guard/cover take a pic and google it. Yes they look different, Hitachi has made in Japan on a black metal end plate, AMK may have a sticker visible or not. They look totally different to each other.

Sorry, I interpreted that question as "Is it easy to see without removing the compressor guard".
