All British Day Brisbane - pics

Well a good day was had yesterday. I couldnt get to Fraser due to work, but was able to duck over to Tennyson for an hour or two.
Ran into Inc, and saw Uncle Ho's beasty.

First time in years haven't displayed one of my old clappers (P76, Austin 1800, Humber, Land Rover etc).
Other than the name and the "union jacks" around the place - it was a top day

    Anyway here's a few pics

Uncle Ho's 2a with 2 awesome games beside it, and a mad refurbed 2a

One for MickG - even the Scots were there!!!
    Lots of Hillman Imp's

This thing was built in Scotland in 1928 - hadn't been driven for 40 years or started for 15. Really? You couldn't tell

A couple of Aston Martins for Vlad

    A few for Dave (adm333)

One for Clarkey and the Phantom & 1800 lovers

    Awesome Phantom ute

And some of the "BEST CAR EVER MADE IN AUSTRALIA"

    Old and the new

Plenty of Series 1's - most with working winches and rear pulleys

    Great Landy Trailer

    More to come later.....

Probably was a great show. But, I wish these clubs could get their heads together and make better use of the calendar. On Sept. 17th. there were the following events:- Speed on Tweed, Beaudesert Swap Meet, All British Day, and motor-cycle racing at Morgan Park. I would have liked to go to all four. However Beaudesert swap meet is the best financial return so, no choice, Beaudesert it had to be. there is now no major event until Gatton HMCC swapmeet last weekend of October. Plenty of spare weekends to spread out the events. Why not talk to each other and have an Event Dates Co-ordinator at The Combined Council of Motoring Clubs? I know this will bring a chorus of "But that's our date, We've always had that date" from clubbies. But common sense should prevail. Fewer events on a given date mean better attendances at each. Last year, there was the ridiculous situation on a weekend in June of swap meets at Carindale & Pine Rivers, Displays by Jaguar,MG, and Vintage Car Clubs, and racing at Qld. Raceway.

it belongs to kevin baker, the lucas spare parts man.

he used to tow it behind his 6cyl rover sedan.

it carries a bucket load of lucas electrical bits.

it is now towed behind a mitsubishi van or similar.

(i would like to give it a lift home :P)
