When I had my D1 - it was very neatly put into the bottom of the instrument window. You could see if it you looked but it wasn't 'in your face' so to speak
Hi all,
yippee! My D1 is finally getting gassed next week, it's been a loonng wait.
I'm interested to know where people have put the guage. I really don't fancy it being down low on the dash, I want to see it at an easy glance. Can it be put up on the instrument pod just under the speedo?
cheers
Dan

What type of gauge?
The LED bargraph gauges seem popular, and they incorporate the change over switch.
You can get the (50mm I think) dial gauges. Is that what you want?
Gas gauges use a different ohm range than petrol gauges, so make sure you get the correct one.
I have a VDO dial gauge, and it appears fairly accurate, so I'm happy.
(However I have a Rangie, so I can't comment on location).
Mine was digital (coloured bars) with the switch over where the instrument dimmer switch would be on a NAS unit
Mine is the bar graph type, exactly same size as one of the blanks next to the cruise control push button thingy whatsit. Has the change over sw and leds

Ralph
thanks ladas - that's exactly what i was picturing, just to the left of the trip button, but wasn't sure if it'd quite fit neatly.Originally Posted by ladas
Ralf, I don't know for sure but am assuming it will get the common LED type.Originally Posted by Ralf_the_RR
Cool, now that might be a very good option - keeps your wiring hidden. Mine has several spare blanks as it's just a poverty-pack. I'll take better note of the field of view next time I'm driving it.Originally Posted by Ralph1Malph
