I know a bloke that used to work there. From memory there were financial problems with the place and it was run poorly and into the ground. I don't want to ruin the little ones image of the place, but it wasn't that fantastic, although kids do love it. I'll give em a bell today to conform for you though, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Oh, and with cadburies, they only do tours week days, not weekends. worth remembering

Not sure when you are going to Tassie but when I went I found that things like the Cadbury factory shut down during late December and a lot of January. So no tours at all during that time.

    touring tassie

When we toured Tas a couple yrs ago I was keen to see the inner workings of the Gordon dam hydro as marked on the tourist map. After a 100km ride out there in freezing drizzle we found out it had recently shut down due to an 'incident' with a tourist van underground. We camped the night & set off back the way we came. It was February & I reckon it was no more than 5deg down in the S/West. All the way out and all the way back, every few k we'd stop, me for a smoke and her to plant her double gloved hands on the engine cases to thaw them.
