    Td5 End cap oil leak

I've discovered the source of an oil leak on my Td5. All it took was to remove the engine cover and see that the cam shaft end cap (black plastic bung + o-ring) was half out of the hole at the front of the engine and only held in by the wiring harness that passes in front of it. The damed thing clicked back into place but I would hardly call it secure.as it can still move around. I'll chase up a new O-ring tomorrow.

    Is this at all common???

Hopefully that's all it will take to resolve. See what I can get tomorrow.

I have a spare one in the tool kit though as I ordered the wrong cap after loosing the rear one.

Oh crap, didn't think to look at the back one. The rear of the engine is clean though so it must still be in place. I guess I'll check it tomorrow and make sure both are OK.

The rear one should not fall out. I lost mine during the rebuild. Set it on a trailer and forgot to grab it before me towed the trailer. So was totaly my fault. If it leaks you will know as it leaks a fair bit when not there.

    TD5 CAM SHAFT FRONT COVER

    Hay there

I found my front seal / plate was loose this morning and so did the search on AULRO and am here.

Just been to the stealership and its near on $40 for the cover, but above it seems that an o-ring can be installed.

Can any one tell me the dimensions of the o-ring I need to get to replace the item there?

as for where the existing o-ring is..... i shall let you know.....

    thanks

    Hay Ewe
