    Further complications....

I have OziExplorer on the laptop with the Natmaps DVD. I have added the UBD version 4 which can run through the OziEplorer progam.

At this stage I have loaded the Melbourne map and this works well with the GPS mouse. With the two different maps does it automatically revert to the Natmap when you run out of UBD map area?

Also, it will not pickup for example The Blue Mountains area if I scroll to it. My setup is all on the laptop so that I could map from Sydney to Perth without having to load maps. How do I get it to do the same function with the UBD?

Is it possible to load all Natmaps and UBD and then OziExplorer will select the best possible maps?

    Cheers,

The UBD and natmaps will be in different formats and will be indexed differently so no Ozi wont switch from one to the other unless they are all the format. You may be able to convert them so check the help files on the Ozi webpage.

I've never had a problem with Ozi changing maps regardless of what format each map is.

You either need to put all your maps in the default directory or tell Ozi where the files are from the configuration menu. This way Ozi will just pick the largest scale map for your location.

Yep....looked in the config. and can see were it possibly could go. It still will not pickup the UBD maps

Now if we had a screen dump of where to insert it....

But have you tried different maps from different sources ? they may be the same as .map or ozf but if they arent indexed the same way Ozi wont know which map is next ?

What do you mean not indexed the same?

So long as Ozi knows where to look it just picks the map with the largest scale.

    Cheers,
On my last computer I had everything neatly organised in various places but on my new computer I put all the maps into the Ozi map folder and all the data in the Ozi data folder. I just use subdirectories to neaten things up and keep different types of maps/data seperate. Then use a folder shortcut from the desktop to quickly access the maps and data.
