After 25 years absence I'm of to the NT for a 10 day drive. I'll return one day in the not to distant future with the Landy and camper. This is a rece for Mrs and myself.

Have a good trip mate. Bet it looks way different to the last time I was there.
Actually, last time I was in Darwin, Darwin wasn't there. A big wind came and blew the town away. 1974 was a busy year for me, and it continued well into 75, trying to clean up Darwin after Cyclone Tracy.
Funny isn't it, how the local coppers all know the sly groggers, but the magistrates never meet them? I worked with the NT Police for a while, immediately we got to Darwin. Not many pubs left standing, or anything else either, but the coppers knew where the grog was all the same. Made for a happy sailor on my part. Sort of made up for being dragged from home Christmas morning by the local bloke, and police car fast drive to the airport for the special flight, back to Sydney to join my ship.
Ah, Darwin, bet she looks flash now.

I was there from about 1980 onwards for a few years. Some nice ppl had come along n built a new city 4 me to party ma ass off in n boy did I do that .

Just recently had a squizz with Google (god bless its little cotton soks) Bloody Casurina is friggin huge.

I just hope I don't get recognised!!!!!
