Well I have gone to the dark side

Just got the wife a Pajero. At least it's a step up from the Ford.

My wife also has a Pajero - its a 3.5 petrol. Apart from regular oil changes, I havent had to do a THING to it in the last 50,000km and its now done 150k. Its great to drive and with the rear LSD surprises off road........I believe they are underrated vehicles.

They are a bit of a pain to work on compared with most jap stuff but at least they dont have to be worked on often............

I think I own a Land Rover because I get bored with cars that dont need working on...........

    It's a 1988
Engine was a 2.6 but right now it's an empty engine bay.
I will be dropping a 2 or 2.6 petrol back in and putting it on gas.

Put a V6 in it. They are dirt cheap to buy new. There is a mob in Perth that advertise them frequently for 3k new. I spoke to a guy at Wanneroo Mitsubishi when I had mine a long time ago and reckons the conversion is not very hard and in the end will work out cheaper than a 2.6. Dont go a 2litre, way too underpowered for the Pajero. Also be aware that a 2.6 out of a Magna while appearing the same has a timing belt where the Pajero motor has a timing chain and I have seen many Magna belts break usually at great expense.

    Hey Edd
You dont want an 88 Trytoo 4x4 to keep it company(basically same vehicle underneath)?.Its complete, 2.5 tdi!!!!.
Not worth much, the freight would be a killer.
I will yell out if I end up wrecking it,may be some bits you need.

Your not the only one. Bought a Mazda 626 for my wife some time ago. It's been built proof for the last 5 years. Would love to have two Landies in the house-hold however my wife would drive me MAD whinging everytime someonething went wrong and had to be fixed.

    Happy wife = Happy life.

I would pick it up but the fuel might kill me.
Used heaps today bringing back the Pajero. Good thing is I know the best towing speeds now.
Wonder how I would go doing the deserts with a car trailer and the trytoo on top
