    leaking fuel heater/cooler

We had a very cold day in Towoomba and I noticed a waterspot under the motor of the disco.
On closer inspection I found that the fuel heater/cooler is leaking out the front flat end.
This looks like s seal behind a clip. Easy enough
I went to the dealer today -- No mate its a sealed unit .
How much I ask -- $700/800 I know its a big local dealership but I did not want to pay all the wages with one purchase . Has anybody got any ideas about stopping the slow drip.
Why is it not a repairable seal. It looks like a cheep clip to be removed and an oring installed Any Ideas Please

Certainly seems very expensive for a simple heat exchanger. I'd certainly get a 2nd opinion from a Land Rover Specialist supplier (ie non dealer)

Did a search, you can buy them from the UK for

    PIB000060Fuel Cooler - Td5 95.50
    Ex VAT112.21

Less than 100 quid, plus postage

    100 Quid = AU$240.00 +/-

Even if postage was $50.00 (which it shouldn't be, more like $25.00) then you would still get it for less than $300.00

Which is a bit more realistic

The link to the supplier is

See my post in the Tech Forum entitled "TD5 Fuel Cooler Leaks".

Apparently they can be pulled apart and there is an O-Ring fix. Provided we are talking about the same part.

A mate's fixing his this w'end, so I can keep you posted on the progress of that.

As with yours, his only leaks in when cold.

Adrian, Does this sound familiar? I don't believe in coincidences, but....

We may be up to see you soon me thinks, warm the kettle and I'll need a little bench space...
