vandalism what happened there ??????
Below information for financial members of - GOLD COAST LAND ROVER OWNERS INC.
and a sneak peak for all AULRO members
Good afternoon all,
Well now running late as usual for my irregular GCLRO updates... it seems to me like 99% of members view our online forums so you are always up-to-date with the daily happenings of the club.
We have had a fantastic run down to Rover Park this past month but unfortunately there were some signs of vandalism while there to 6 of our vehicles which is currently being handled by the committee and everyone will get a full update tomorrow night at the meeting... but apart from the hassle of that, the trip was a great success as we all hoped with some brilliant driving involved and from what i hear, an absolutely perfect camp-oven roast pork being produced on the saturday night.
We had a very successful GCLRO Driver Awareness day at DRanged's property with some nice real-life recovery demonstrations on our drive around, and held our first GCLRO Workshop on removing and installing a transfer case on a defender... i learnt an absolute wealth of knowledge on this day as did a few others and I would like to thank DRanged for his instruction and use of workshop/hoist and all other participants who helped and learnt as we went along... and the best bit is the defender now travels beautifully on the highway with the higher ratios from a discovery transfer box.
So moving along... See you for a chat, drink and dinner TOMORROW NIGHT - THURSDAY... and as always... see you daily online.
THIS THURSDAY - GCLRO Meeting/Dinner - 5th June

The Gold Coast Land Rover Owner's hold their meetings on the First Thursday of the Month @ 7pm at Options Tavern Westfield Helensvale (just off the M1). Then we have a few drinks, dinner and a good chat about, you guessed it, our landies... if someones been keen maybe watch some footage of our trips on the plasma screens, laugh at the photos and generally have a great time.

vandalism what happened there ??????
6 of our vehicles had either wheel nuts all loosened (minus locking nuts) and a couple had steering arms loosened. We only realised when the steering arm on DRanged's vehicle came off on his driveway after a 2.5hr drive back from the park... we are still in the process of courses of action but needless to say was an extreme case of vandalism which could have ended very badly.

i can't believe what i am reading ,,thats lucky no one got serously injured/killed,,,,,thats why i always take my dog with me ,he gets chained to the bull bar and been a staffy no one will come within 100m of my camp with out him going crazy
This wouldn't surprise me at that place.
Levuka is a bit closer and is less, err, 'invasive'.
Around here, Roverpark has a bit of a 'reputation'...
Cheers, GQ
Please explain your post in more detail.
I have been to rover park many times and never once had any dramas.
I have a mate who basically built/maintained half the park for Hans and used to go atleast once every fortnight I am sure he would know something about this reputation... but he doesn't.
So please explain further, Thank you.
Anthony
