A 4" rubber hose that has different diameters on each end fits onto that, then connects to a metal pipe that then connects to one of the heater hoses.
The Rocker cover with the fill tube is usually on the other head though.( The metal pipe then runs back to wards the fire wall drivers side and connects via a length of approx 30 cm rubber hose to the inlet pipe of the heater at the firewall.)
My dig camera was flat other wise I would have posted a pic.
Found a pic on ebay, if you can zoom image you'll get the drift.

Remove the friggin thing... Take it to a hose and fitting shop and get them to use a reducer etc, and change it to the same size as the other pipe diameter.
Then you can use normal hose that you can get anywhere, rather than a expensive hose...
AND... If it does pop out the back of nowhere with a GPS (Greatly Pi$$ed-off Spouse) in the vehicle you wont be there wrapping the moulding in 6 miles of PVC tape.....

Thanks Guys. My heater connects to the bottom radiator hose and then to the back of the water pump, so if I just block this off I won't have any problems GPS or otherwise correct?
. This manifold is in a 1976 range rover hence the filler position, and the wiring in the background is not finished and will be covered better once I've got it running. Cheers
