    Tightarse challenge

Well the challenge has been set, would be good to see a few other AULROians in it as well.

As on the A4WD forum, would be keen if they had a challenge that was going to be run in QLD.

I like the idea as it brings most vehicles into perspective and it's on a level playing field. Good to prove that a $3K Rangie ****s all over these crap leaf sprung dungas

G'day All, Iszat Ace 'Disco98' or have I had 2 much alcohol again!! LOL, wouldn't be anything else than a Land Rover would be able to that type of thing with, as 'NM herself' said 'Leon' has already proved himself, and well said NM, any of my bunch should be able to compete except they are way over and above the price limit, and besides I won't let them get dirty, and you know they hate me for it and I don't care either, anyway go for it Dobbo, cheers Dennis
PS have had a luverly day playing Land Rovers, having rebuilt the 2 front Spindle housings painted them and refitted to the front differential housing.

Sounds like it could be fun tho you wont get much outa 3k after you pay rego and insurance here in NSW as rego for say a rangie is around 800 then third party another 300 + so that leaves roughly 2k to get a truck then make it road worthy then if were all gota have the same tyres theres another grand for cheapys so i dont think it will work some how

Their terms won't allow our Leon so I'm not playing

However I did suggest a 40+ yrs old vehicle challenge Wonder how many non-LR vehicles would turn up
To be fair I thought 1980 - 1985 so cars other than LR could participate, they are a mixed forum, besides theres no fun beating other Landies is there.

Yup, but I live in NSW so I thought the challenge should be set in the state I live in so I could participate

There's an old blue and white cruiser for sale for $800 near me. Looks like it wouldn't pull the skin off a custard and anyway its probably so rusty that if you tried the rear end would be the only thing to be pulled off

You could do that up Reckon you'd have it fit for the challenge for more than $3000
But it won't beat a RRC of the same age would it.

Thats the idea not much you can do to the car for $3000. Improvisation due to necessity

Im sure someone on here could nearly donate a RRC in that age range to the cause if it were going to AULRO in the end, there must be something out there that could get a RWC in NSW and then it's just insurance and tyres, hand winch and other recovery equipment.

There are plenty of mods that folks have done on here that take more time than money, it would be a great advertisment to grab as much info we can off the arcives and put it into practice.

If say the person donating the car for the least amount of money that would look reasonable and give a reciept for that and then others donated indirvidual parts to the project and some donating time to put it together and do mods it could come together fairly quick and at minimal cost to any one on here.

I recon it's a do able idea but most of the people on here would have to give a bit of in put and there would have to be 1 trust worthy person to coordinate it all and register the car.

Im in for what ever I can do If anyone is interested, it sounds like some fun.
