LPG conversion running smooth

Hello,

My 91 3.5lt auto shorty disco is under going an LPG conversion...

The guy who is installing it informed me that I should purchase new plugs & leads (i've heard this before).

My question:

Any suggestions as to what type/make to ensure good quality & trouble free LPG motoring for my disco ?

Any other suggesions would be appreciated

LPG is much less tolerant of ignition problems than petrol. Backfiring is more common and can damage fuel injection sensors so it's good advice to get the ignition right.

I got fantastic results with NGK Iridium plugs (BP6EIX I think). They weren't cheap but should last 60,000 kms. When I went back for the replacements they had gone up $6 each so now I'm back to standard. 8 x $22 was too much for me.

I use Magnecor leads, just the standard 7mm core, and they have given me no problems. They came recommended but no doubt there are others out there just as good.

Mate Im not having a go but I didnt think the Disco came in any other size than the one every one else has lol 100".

Ive never had any trouble with Bosch leads and if you can get them, platnum (sp?) plugs but Bosch or NGK are normally ok for your regular plugs.

Your plug gap is very important with LPG, makes a huge difference to economy and a bit to power.

Maybe it's a 3 door.
If so it's just an illusion as mcrover said they are in fact identical in size.

Ask my MIL what she thinks of the size of the rear doors on mine.

The tip of one of my flat head screw drivers in my tool box works well

It's more to make them all even, I did set them on my old Subi once with feelers and found that the screwdriver I used to open it up was a perfect fit so I just used that.

I dont remember the specifics but wouldnt be hard to find out from RAVE or a gregories manual etc

LPG works best with a good sized spark. If you have the right dizzy & coil, then 85 thou.
