    Prado Driver Brings Down Powerlines

    This driver must have hit that pole pretty hard in their Prado.....

    Excellent pic! Interesting how the 'c' window has disappeared... and the frame is twisted, end of life for that one....

    I thought poles were stronger,
    not so lucky Prado,
    which will probably be junked...
    how did the occupants fare?

    droop street hey, pretty effective droop on the prado and the pole now.... hope the occupants fared better than the vehicle and pole...

    That's a substantial hit, a tad over 60kh/h me thinks
    Apart from the fact it's a Prado, it's well an truly stuffed, check out the crease in the roof
    I think the boys in blue will be doing more than directing traffic around this one

    some years ago a study by l think Monash Uni (it could have been RMIT) was that if you drill a hole at certain point up the power pole when a vehicle hit it the pole would snap but the powerlines would remain suspended in the air above rather than crashing down onto the ground with pole, l do remember SEC crews drilling holes into powerlines as the study showed it was safer for repair crews and prevented black outs after crashes

    Ahhh Crap.. thats 50 meters from my house.. Looks like I'll have to reprogram everything tonight.

    Thats the 2nd time in 6 months someones taken out a pole at that intersection..last time it was a truck.
