    Work Hack with a Difference

Just took delivery of our new work runabout.......

Range Rover Sport TDV8 in Stornaway Grey

Best bit is I get to drive it whenever I need to and when the boss is away it's mine to do with as I please.

I have allready warned the boss that it won't come back clean.

Worst bit is I can't think of a reasonable excuse to use the car until next week.

Somehow I think driving the old defender will never be the same again.

Finally found a excuse to go for a spin in the new work hack. Only round town and a bit of freeway so not a real workout. Its fantastic to drive. Not as fast as your average fowlcan but put your foot down and response is instant and the noise is awesome The brembo brakes are brilliant maybe even a little overboosted. Cruises along at 100k at around 1700 rpm with a lovely faint rumble :cool The voice command radio is a nice touch and the female voice is very soothing. So are the leather recliners.

My only winges so far are. Driving position is nice but lower roof and more slope on A pillar means the vis is not as good as the old rangies or disco. The plain LCD radio screen is unreadable with the polarised sunnies on (but the pretty lady takes care of the tuning so I guess I can live with that ). And the idiot warning on the navigation screen that you have to agree to when you start it up will drive me mad....can you turn it off.

Other than that its beats a nissan pulsar or worse a Toyota Priaus as a work hack. As for the questions about what I do....lets just say that I was carefull to make sure that I did an Environmental Impact Statement, Cost Benefit Analysis and Time and Motion Study before I decided how many of your tax payer dollars I would spend by putting my foot on the loud pedal.

Sounds just like ours........except we have the 4.2 Supercharged.

Upper management think it works out better when sold as a Demo compared to the usual Disco - but I don't think thay factored in the fuel bill .
